The Texas Farm Bureau Friends of Agriculture Fund (AGFUND) has endorsed State Representative Charles Perry in the Senate District 28 special election on September 9.
Texas Farm Bureau and AGFUND President Kenneth Dierschke announced Perry as the AGFUND choice to succeed Senator Robert Duncan in the sprawling 51 county district.
“Charles Perry is a strong conservative in the Legislature and he knows how to get things done in Austin,” Dierschke said. “We look forward to working with him in the Senate, as we have in the House.” Perry currently represents the Lubbock area in the Texas House. He is a certified public accountant.
Dierschke predicts that property rights and water issues will be of top concern in next year’s Legislature. He says Perry will stand up for the interests of agriculture and rural Texas in the Senate.
