TFB AGFUND endorses Judge Andrew Murr for Texas House
1/20/2014

Waco, TEXAS--The Texas Farm Bureau (TFB) Friends of Agriculture Fund (AGFUND), Inc. board of directors endorsed Republican Andrew Murr for District 53 in the Texas House of Representatives.

"Andrew Murr will be a welcome addition to the Texas House and will be a leader from day one," said TFB and AGFUND President Kenneth Dierschke. "He is a proven fiscal conservative, serving his native county with honor for five years as its county judge."

Murr served as Kimble County Attorney prior to his election as county judge in 2008. He operates Telegraph Title Company and maintains a cattle operation where he lives with his wife and son on the family ranch near Junction.

"His agricultural background and respect for his heritage give him a unique perspective that will make him an excellent representative for this sprawling district," Dierschke said. "That he had the courage of his convictions to resign the county judge's office to run for this state representative seat speaks volumes about his commitment to the future of rural Texas."

Murr is the president of the Kimble/Edwards County Farm Bureau. He also chaired the executive committee of the Concho Valley Council of Governments and has served his community on the boards of Concho Valley Transit District, Kimble County Historical Commission, Kimble County Youth Show, the Hill Country Fair Association and the Junction National Bank. In addition, Gov. Rick Perry appointed Murr to the Concho Valley Regional Review Board in 2011.
